Mr. Falafel

On Gosposka Street in Maribor's historic centre, Mr. Falafel has served Arabic and Middle Eastern food since 2014. Established as the city's first Arabic restaurant, it introduced dishes built around chickpeas, aromatic spices and traditional regional recipes to Maribor's dining scene. Arabic music adds to the atmosphere.

The menu features falafel, creamy hummus and baba ganoush, a roasted aubergine dip. Other specialities include Arabic wraps, sambusa pastries, shawarma and rice dishes, with meat, vegetarian and vegan options. Tabbouleh salad and chickpea stew offer further plant-based choices. For dessert, there is traditional baklava with pistachios.

Arabic tea and coffee complement the food. The restaurant also sells Middle Eastern delicacies and ingredients for preparing Arabic dishes at home. By combining a casual restaurant with a small selection of speciality products, Mr. Falafel offers an introduction to Middle Eastern food culture in the heart of Maribor.
