On Ulica kneza Koclja in Maribor, above the historic Water Tower and close to the Drava River, Mandl food & bar is run by Alen and Tanja. The couple have created an informal place for food and drinks, with a terrace overlooking the river. The name Mandl also reflects the old almond tree beside the restaurant.
Alen leads the kitchen, baking fresh brioche burger buns every day. A signature dish is the Mandl burger, combining grilled beef, almond butter, onion jam and crispy bacon. The menu also features slow-cooked ribs, steaks, crispy chicken, salads and loaded fries. It brings together barbecue cooking and contemporary street-food favourites.
Mornings are dedicated to breakfast and brunch, with bagels, focaccia and bowls among the options. After midday, the menu switches to lunch and other savoury dishes. Mandl also offers takeaway and delivery, making its food available beyond the restaurant. The combination of house-prepared food, casual dining and a riverside setting gives the venue its character.
