Orange wines from buried clay amphorae and Demeter-certified vineyards on the slopes of Pohorje.

On Tinjska Gora, on the southern slopes of Pohorje, Zorjan Winery is run by Božidar and Marija Zorjan. The couple took over the farm in 1980 and later turned towards organic and biodynamic farming. Their Demeter-certified estate brings together vineyards, woodland and meadows, with farm animals playing a part in maintaining healthy soils and biodiversity.

The winery is known for orange wines made in clay amphorae buried in the ground. Božidar Zorjan has followed this approach since 1995, allowing extended skin contact and a long maturation process. Grape varieties include Muscat Ottonel, Welschriesling, Riesling, Chardonnay and Sauvignon. His Dolium Muscat Ottonel has attracted international attention as one of the world's notable orange wines.

The wines are also aged in an old cellar with Carthusian heritage, surrounded by the wooded Pohorje landscape. Nearby are Ančnikovo gradišče archaeological site and St Urh's Church, connecting the winery with local walking routes. Visits should be arranged directly with the producer.
