In Zgornje Hlapje near Jakobski Dol, among the hills of Slovenske gorice, Kraner – Plateis Wines, now known as Plateis Wines, continues a long winemaking tradition. The estate grew from a former vineyard cottage with the year 1743 carved into its wooden ceiling. According to local oral tradition, French monks once worked here. In 1989, the family shifted from mixed farming to winemaking and renovated the vineyards.
The range includes white, red and rosé wines, with varieties such as Riesling, Welschriesling, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Yellow Muscat, Traminer and Pinot Noir. Alongside fresh varietal wines, the family produces selected wines from its Selection range. Chardonnay Selection 2024 received a silver medal at Decanter in 2026.
Wine tastings by prior arrangement introduce the estate's wines, which can also be purchased directly. Personalised labels and engraved bottles are available for gifts. The estate combines family winemaking with the architectural heritage and vineyard landscape of Jakobski Dol.
