On Maribor's Main Square, Alexander Bistro combines breakfast, contemporary street food and casual dining. Opened in 2019 by Ana and Klemen Flisar, it grew from their Alexander food truck concept into a permanent restaurant. The couple transformed a former shoe shop, retaining original materials alongside oiled oak, restored chairs and greenery.
The bistro is particularly known for its Alexander burgers, first introduced through the food truck. The menu also includes seasonal bowls with vegetables and other toppings, salads and Asian-inspired dishes such as pad thai. Breakfast options include toast and other morning dishes, while vegetarian choices broaden the selection.
A distinctive feature is the range of freshly pressed fruit and vegetable juices without added sugar, alongside coffee sourced from local roasters. The drinks selection also includes regional wines and Slovenian craft beer. Outdoor seating on Main Square connects breakfast, lunch or an evening meal with the everyday life of Maribor's historic centre.
