On Vodnikov Square beside Maribor's central market, Zlati Lev Beerhouse combines a traditional pub with a restaurant. According to Visit Maribor, the hospitality tradition at this location dates back to 1825. Today, Zlati Lev welcomes both beer enthusiasts and visitors looking for a substantial lunch or an informal meal with friends.
A highlight is the selection of 11 draught beers, ranging from classic lagers to craft styles. Its Beer Shop offers more than 80 beers from around the world. The food menu features ćevapčići, pljeskavica, mixed grills, burgers and BBQ ribs, alongside soups served in bread bowls, vegetarian dishes and desserts. Daily lunches and student meals are also available.
The beerhouse caters for private celebrations, group events and outside catering. It also takes part in Maribor's beer culture, having helped organise the Pivo Fest held at the city market in 2025. Its position close to Lent makes it a convenient dining stop while exploring the old town.
