Beside the Old Bridge, this square combines historic buildings, greenery and views of Lent.

Revolution Square (Trg revolucije) lies on the right bank of the Drava, beside the Old Bridge linking it with Main Square and Maribor's old town. The square is one of the approaches to the city centre from the southern side of the river. A landscaped flower bed adds greenery among the surrounding buildings and roads. From the river's edge, views stretch towards Lent and the historic buildings across the water.

The nearby Old Bridge was built between 1909 and 1913 to designs by Eugen Fassbender. Its steel arches replaced an older river crossing and connected the historic centre with the former Magdalena suburb. Damaged in 1941, the bridge was later rebuilt, losing some of its original Art Nouveau decoration in the process.

Also overlooking the square is Mariborski dvor, designed by architect Josip Costaperaria. Its distinctive layout and rounded corners reflect the transition from historicist architecture to modernism. A historic newspaper kiosk survives near the bridge. Together, these features reveal different periods of the city's development and its close relationship with the Drava.
