Older and contemporary artworks meet historic maps and views of Maribor in this city gallery.

Premzl Gallery on Slovenska Street in Maribor's old town brings together older and contemporary art by Slovenian and international artists. Gallery owner Primož Premzl founded it in 1993 at Maribor Castle, before moving to the present address in 2006. Alongside exhibitions, the gallery offers works of art for sale.

Its selection includes paintings, prints and sculptures, with works by Zoran Mušič, Jože Tisnikar, Zmago Jeraj and other artists. Temporary exhibitions and the sales collection cover different periods of Slovenian art. Another distinctive feature is historic cartography and city views, offering a glimpse of how Maribor and its surroundings were depicted in earlier centuries.

The gallery is linked to the Primož Premzl Art Cabinet, which also publishes books and collects material relating to regional history. An on-site reference library contains publications on visual art. Together, the artworks, maps and books connect artistic production with the history and changing image of Maribor.
