Trafika – Museum for One stands on Revolution Square at the southern end of the Old Bridge over the Drava. Built in the 1920s, the small kiosk recalls a time when newsstands were part of everyday city life. Today, its 7.5 square metres hold an exhibition on historic kiosks, newspapers and local customs. The figure of a Turk on the façade remains one of its distinctive features.
The kiosk was once more than a place to buy a newspaper: residents stopped here to exchange news and conversation. Local residents helped save the building, which reopened in 2019 as a museum operated by the Maribor National Liberation Museum. Historical objects, photographs and stories recall the city's social life and its changing streets.
The space combines a small exhibition, reading room and information point. The kiosk also appears in the writing of Slovenian author Drago Jančar, while local lore links it with good luck in love. Beside one of Maribor's main river crossings, it preserves an intimate piece of urban history.
