A narrow passage between Main Square and Lent recalls the former butchers' stalls by the Drava.

Butchers' Passage (Mesarski prehod) is a narrow historic lane in Maribor's old town, connecting Main Square with Vojašniška Street in Lent. It runs between old townhouses and descends towards the Drava River. Its layout recalls a time when small streets and passages linked the town marketplace with the riverfront, where trade and everyday work took place.

The passage takes its name from the butchers and their market stalls that once operated in this area. Historical records mention it as Fleischgässl in 1742 and later as Fleischergasse. Its changing names reflect the development of the old town and the trades that shaped daily life in Maribor.

The passage was renovated as part of the redevelopment of Main Square and its connections to Lent. Today, it belongs to a network of historic pedestrian routes linking the upper old town with the lower Drava riverfront. Alongside Splavarski, Minoritski and Žički passages, it preserves the old town's street pattern and memories of its former trades.
