Minoritski Passage is a narrow pedestrian lane in Maribor's old town, linking Koroška Street with Vojašniški Square in Lent. It takes its name from the nearby Minorite monastery, whose history goes back to the 13th century. The passage recalls the routes that once connected the streets of the town with the Drava riverfront, an area shaped by trade, crafts and monastic life.
Its changing names reflect the city's history. In 1822 the lane was known as Casern Gasse, and by 1840 as Minoritten Gässl (Minorite Lane). It became Minoritska ulica in 1919 and was renamed Minoritski prehod in 1938 because of its narrow width. After another name change during the Second World War, its Slovenian name was restored in 1945.
The passage leads towards the Minoriti Cultural Quarter, where Maribor Puppet Theatre now occupies the restored medieval monastery. It was also included in the city's renovation of historic pedestrian passages towards Lent, completed in 2022. This short route connects the old town's past with its present-day cultural venues.
