The Sexton's House by the Three Kings Church stands on a hill in the Slovenske gorice region, in the municipality of Benedikt. Built in the 16th century alongside the neighbouring Gothic pilgrimage church, it is among Slovenia's oldest surviving stone-built farmhouses. The L-shaped building once accommodated pilgrims. Its older wing is Gothic, while another section was added during the Baroque period.
Historic features include stone portals, original sandstone walls and a traditional black kitchen with a preserved hearth. The restored interior reveals different building phases, from Gothic rooms to later Baroque alterations. In the vaulted cellar, the house's architectural heritage meets the winegrowing traditions of Slovenske gorice.
The building underwent extensive restoration in 2021, supervised by Slovenia's cultural heritage conservation service. Today, it hosts cultural and ceremonial events, weddings and visits arranged in advance. Tastings of local wines and foods, including cured pork, homemade bread and fruit bread, can also be organised.
