Rafters' Bridge (Splavarska brv) connects Lent and Tabor in central Maribor, beside the historic Old Bridge over the Drava River. Completed in 2023, the pedestrian and cycling bridge forms part of the riverfront redevelopment. It stands near the site of earlier crossings that connected the old town with the southern bank for centuries, continuing the history of movement across the river.
Designed by Spanish architecture studio Burgos & Garrido in collaboration with engineers, the bridge combines steel supports, timber cladding and gently undulating sides. Its distinctive form creates a continuous connection between the walkway and railings. Approximately 130 metres long, it also features integrated lighting that highlights its shape after dark.
The bridge offers views of Lent, the Drava and the steel arches of the Old Bridge. On the northern bank, it meets the renovated riverside promenade, while the southern end connects to Tabor. Used by pedestrians and cyclists, it adds an example of contemporary architecture to Maribor's historic waterfront.
