Exhibitions, performances and festivals connect contemporary art, science and technology.

KIBLA Multimedia Centre has brought together contemporary art, new media and technology in Maribor since 1996. This independent cultural organisation presents Slovenian and international artists and encourages experimentation where art, science and society meet. Its programme spans visual arts, multimedia installations, music and performance.

KIBLA operates across three venues. KiBela, at Narodni dom on Ulica kneza Koclja, hosts exhibitions and intermedia projects. artKIT, on Main Square, presents art in the historic centre. KIBLA PORTAL, on Valvasorjeva Street, provides a larger exhibition space in a former textile factory. It opened in 2012, the year Maribor was a European Capital of Culture.

The exhibitions are accompanied by festivals, talks, workshops and audiovisual performances. KIBLA works with artists and cultural organisations in Slovenia and abroad, connecting traditional artistic forms with digital experimentation and research.
