From Koblarjev zaliv to Lent

The trip starts at Koblarjev zaliv, Koroška cesta 175 in Kamnica, and ends at Lent near the Oldest Vine, Vojašniška ulica 8 in Maribor. The taljanšek raft follows the natural current of the Drava to the site of the former harbour for timber rafts and šajka boats.

Turistično društvo Maribor has been reviving the Drava’s rafting heritage since 1985. The trip presents this tradition through a multilingual cultural and entertainment programme. The Splavarski trio performs live Slovenian music, and one guest takes part in a traditional rafting initiation.

What the programme includes

• a journey on a traditional taljanšek raft;
• an introduction to the history of rafting on the Drava;
• live music by the Splavarski trio;
• a rafting initiation for one guest;
• an aperitif of blueberry liqueur or plum brandy, served with dried fruit or bread and salt;
• a cold raftsmen’s snack and raftsmen’s coffee;
• white wine, mineral water and apple juice without quantity limits.

Additional hot meals must be ordered in advance. The earlier offer also mentions grilled dishes; their availability must be confirmed when booking.
