Žametovka through the centuries

The Oldest Vine in Lent is an old indigenous variety called Žametna črnina, also known as Žametovka or Modra kavčina. It has survived numerous challenges over the centuries and become a symbol of Maribor’s wine-growing tradition. It is listed in Guinness World Records and protected as a natural feature of national significance.
