Kamenščak - Hrastovec Landscape Park covers part of the Slovenske gorice hills between the Drava and Pesnica valleys, near Završka vas, Korena, Voličina and Hrastovec. Across 851 hectares, vineyards, meadows, traditional orchards and wooded slopes form a varied rural landscape. Protected since 1992, the park is known for the meeting of traditional farming scenery and unusual geological features.
The area contains isolated karst, a rarity in northeastern Slovenia. Its hills conceal sinkholes, karst springs and small underground caves. Local names for the springs include izvirki and zvrečine. A cave and a stepped shaft are known near Voličina, but neither is open to visitors. Limestone was once quarried on Strma gora for building.
The park's mosaic of farmland and natural habitats is equally important. Extensively managed meadows, old orchards, pastures and hedgerows support rare butterflies and birds. Kamenščak - Hrastovec is a place where karst geology, biodiversity and traditional agriculture remain closely connected.
