Studenški Forest lies on the right bank of the Drava River, on the western edge of Maribor. It forms part of Maribor Lake Landscape Park, where level woodland meets the riverside. A network of paths makes it suitable for easy walks and cycling, creating a green link between the Studenci district and the area towards Limbuš.
Its main feature is the Woodworking Forest Educational Trail, developed by Maribor Woodworking School and the Studenci Tourist Association. This circular trail is approximately two kilometres long, starts at the school and features 14 information boards. They introduce common trees of the mixed lowland forest and explain their characteristics. After an initial shared section, walkers can choose a shorter or longer loop.
The Drava Cycling Route (Drava Bike) also passes through the forest, following the river across the wider region. Riverside paths continue towards Maribor Lake and the Drava Centre. Studenški Forest combines everyday outdoor recreation, learning about trees and the natural setting of the Drava on the city's edge.
