A Way of the Cross winds through vineyards to a Gothic church with views towards Pohorje.

Gorca is a hill above Malečnik, on the eastern edge of Maribor, where the Drava Valley meets the vineyards of Slovenske gorice. A 19th-century Way of the Cross climbs past chapels and vine-covered slopes. From the hilltop, views stretch towards Maribor, the Pohorje Mountains, the Drava Plain and the surrounding hills.

At the summit stands the pilgrimage Church of Our Lady of Gorca, dating back to 1493. Baroque side chapels were later added to the Gothic building, and artists Fantoni and Brollo painted its interior in 1864. One notable feature is the altar of St Urban, patron saint of winegrowers, which includes a painting of Christ in the winepress. A cemetery lies beside the church.

Gorca is a stop on the Marian Pilgrimage Route, linking shrines across several European countries. The ascent from Malečnik combines religious heritage, vineyard scenery and views over the Drava Valley. Church visits are arranged in advance, while the hillside paths also offer a walk through the local landscape.
