Vineyard slopes overlook Maribor, while autumn brings a traditional wooden rattle to the hilltop.

Mestni Vrh Hill rises 348 metres above Maribor's City Park, between the hills of Piramida and Kalvarija. Its southern slopes are covered in vineyards, while woodland grows on the cooler northern side. This change of landscape so close to the city centre reflects Maribor's long winegrowing tradition.

One distinctive autumn custom is the erection of the city's traditional vineyard rattle, a wooden device associated with the grape-ripening season. Paths through the vines and open viewpoints offer glimpses of Maribor and the surrounding hills. The landscape is shaped as much by local winemaking customs as by its natural setting.

Mestni Vrh is part of the approximately five-kilometre Piramida–Kalvarija nature trail, which links all three city hills. Information boards introduce the area's natural features, while the route alternates between sunny vineyard slopes and shaded woodland. The hill belongs to the protected wider City Park area, where nature, recreation and viticulture meet on the edge of Maribor.
