Cesar Beekeeping in Razvanje, at the foot of Pohorje, combines Slovenian honey production, mead-making and beekeeping experiences. Beekeeper Marko Cesar started working with bees at the age of 18. Today, his BEE CESAR brand also offers inventive honey combinations with chocolate and hazelnuts, Pohorje blueberries, cinnamon, chilli and ginger.
The range includes traditional mead, sparkling mead and honey liqueur. In 2022, the brut sparkling mead received a platinum medal at the Great American International Wine Competition. Guided tastings introduce different types of Slovenian honey with protected geographical indication status and honey-based drinks.
The estate features a bee-friendly garden showcasing plants important to pollinators and stories from Razvanje's past. Visits also include the apiary, while apitherapy experiences, children's workshops and group programmes offer other ways to learn about bees. The estate connects local food traditions, beekeeping knowledge and the natural surroundings of Pohorje.
