Pohorje Market Pivola is located beside the University of Maribor Botanical Garden, on the lower slopes of Pohorje in the municipality of Hoče-Slivnica. Every Saturday, local farmers, food producers and craftspeople sell their products from distinctive wooden stalls. The market was developed to connect producers from the municipality and neighbouring communities.
The selection includes seasonal fruit and vegetables, dairy products, homemade pasta, bread, honey, pumpkin seed oil and other regional foods. Beekeepers, cheesemakers and farms selling meat products are among the traders. Handmade crafts add to the selection, reflecting both the food traditions and creative skills of the surrounding area.
Pohorje Market also hosts local events, food tastings and creative workshops. Culinary gatherings and activities organised by community associations take place on selected dates. Its location next to the botanical garden makes it possible to combine Saturday shopping with an exploration of Pohorje's plant life.
