The Trail of Beauty and Local Delights (Po poti lepot in dobrot) is a circular walking route through the hills around Malečnik, east of Maribor. The four-kilometre trail begins at Motel Črni Baron and follows an old pilgrimage path towards Gorca. Here stands the Church of Our Lady, a notable local landmark reached along a historic route lined with chapels of the Stations of the Cross.
From Gorca, the trail continues along a wine road through the vineyards of the Slovenske gorice Hills. The Markuš and Valantan tourist farms offer opportunities to stop for traditional farm food. The route then turns onto a forest path descending into the Vodole Valley, home to the Sončni raj estate and its giant spruce, a protected natural monument of national importance.
The final section passes through the shaded Frajgraba Valley before returning to Malečnik. The walk combines religious heritage, vineyards, local cuisine and natural landmarks close to Maribor. This relatively easy route is suitable for families, groups and walkers of different ages, with approximately two to three hours recommended for the visit.
