The Ruperška Cycling Route is an easy, 13-kilometre circular ride through the Slovenske gorice Hills, starting in Lenart. It follows the countryside through Lormanje towards Voličina, continues past Hrastovec and returns to Lenart. Along the way, fields, meadows and villages offer a glimpse of everyday rural life in northeastern Slovenia.
In Voličina, the route brings together local history and cultural landmarks. The Maister Tower comes into view on the approach to the village, while St Rupert's Church and a herb garden provide places to stop. The ride continues towards Hrastovec, where Hrastovec Castle stands prominently above the surrounding countryside.
On the return to Lenart, the route passes Lake Komarnik, an important habitat for waterbirds and other wildlife. Nearby stands the Black Cross monument, associated with the local story of Agata. With its combination of village scenery, historical landmarks and lakeside nature, the Ruperška Cycling Route offers a varied introduction to the Slovenske gorice countryside. Its manageable distance makes it suitable for recreational cyclists and shorter cycling trips.
