Gorišnica–Maribor is stage 28 of the Slovenian Mountain Bike Route (STKP), covering 66 kilometres from the lowlands near the Drava River across the Slovenske gorice Hills to Maribor. Starting in Gorišnica, the route climbs towards Polenšak before winding through rural villages on a mixture of paved roads, gravel tracks and forest paths.
One of its notable stops is the Puch Museum in Sakušak, birthplace of inventor and industrialist Janez Puh. The route continues through Juršinci and Vitomarci towards Sveta Trojica and Lake Trojica. At Zavrh, it passes the Maister Tower, associated with Slovenian general Rudolf Maister, before continuing through Voličina towards Maribor.
The final section crosses the vineyard-covered hills around Malečnik, passing through Vodole and over Stolni vrh before descending into the city. The stage finishes at the Old Vine House in Lent, an official STKP checkpoint. Frequent climbs and descents require good fitness, while the route brings together rural landscapes, local history and the wine-growing heritage of northeastern Slovenia.
