Maribor–Ruška koča is stage 29 of the Slovenian Mountain Bike Route (STKP), connecting Maribor's historic centre with the forested ridge of Pohorje. It begins at the Old Vine House in Lent, follows the Drava River to the Studenci footbridge and continues through Studenci and Zgornje Radvanje towards the mountain. A long climb via Kordek leads to Bellevue and St Bolfenk Church.
The defining feature is the transition from city streets to extensive mountain forests. From Bellevue, the route passes the Ciglenica lookout, offering views of Pohorje, the Kozjak Hills and the wider Styria region. It then reaches Mariborska koča, an official STKP checkpoint. The ride combines paved sections, gravel roads and shorter climbs and descents.
The final section follows the Pohorje ridge past St Areh Church to Ruška koča, where the stage ends. Covering approximately 25 kilometres with 1,248 metres of ascent, it requires good fitness and experience with sustained climbs. The route combines mountain biking, scenic viewpoints and the cultural heritage of Pohorje.
