A woodland hike from Ruše leads to a hillside restaurant known for traditional local food.

The Trail to Martnica is a relatively easy hike from Ruše into the forests of Ruško Pohorje, above the Drava Valley. Its destination is Martnica, a local excursion spot and restaurant situated 682 metres above sea level. The route combines a short outdoor walk with an opportunity to stop for traditional food in a wooded hillside setting.

One of the highlights is the view across the Drava Valley and surrounding hills from Martnica. On clear days, the panorama extends to the Koralpe mountains in Austria. The restaurant serves local specialities, including meso iz kible, roast pork knuckle and traditional crackling pastries. This combination makes Martnica a destination for both hikers and cyclists travelling up from Ruše.

Martnica is also associated with the 24-hour Martnica Ascent, a charity event in which participants repeatedly climb the hill on foot or by bicycle. The trail forms part of the hiking network on Ruško Pohorje, offering a short escape from the valley into the forest. The ascent takes approximately one hour, depending on the starting point.
