The Trail to Pečke is an easy hiking route from Meranovo on the northern slopes of Pohorje. Starting at the historic Meranovo wine estate, associated with Styrian winemaking heritage, the path climbs towards the wooded hill of Pečke. The four-kilometre route offers a short excursion from the Maribor area, with approximately one hour needed for the ascent.
The walk first passes Andrej's apiary before entering the forests of Pohorje. A stream accompanies part of the route, which crosses the water on a wooden footbridge beside large rocks. The combination of woodland paths, running water and rock formations gives this relatively short hike its distinctive character.
At the destination stands Dom na Pečkah, a mountain refreshment stop north of Pohorje's main ridge. Trees limit the views from the summit, although parts of Maribor and the Kozjak Hills are visible through openings in the forest. Pečke also provides a starting point for longer walks towards Glažuta and Areh, connecting this easy hike with the wider Pohorje trail network.
