Hand-harvested grapes, award-winning wines and tastings in a historic cellar in Limbuš.

In Limbuš, at the foot of the Pohorje mountains near Maribor, Jaunik Winery and Wine Tavern continues a family winemaking tradition spanning around 150 years. In 2009, Domen Jaunik took over part of the vineyards and established Vina Jaunik, focusing on bottled wines. The family estate combines its long history with a contemporary approach to winemaking.

The grapes are grown in Limbuška graba, where steep vineyard slopes demand extensive manual work. One unusual feature of the harvest is the use of enduro motorcycles to help navigate the terrain. Some wines are certified organic, while others follow integrated production methods. The range includes Pinot Tris, a blend of three Pinot varieties, Tris sparkling wine and Idea, an orange wine made from Riesling. Jaunik wines have also received awards at international competitions, including Decanter and AWC Vienna.

The wine tavern offers guided tastings by appointment and tours of its old wine cellar. These visits connect the family's wines and winemaking story with the viticultural heritage of the Pohorje foothills.
