In Svečina, among the wine-growing hills near the Austrian border, Vinotoč Pliberšek occupies a restored farm building dating from 1902. The family has preserved elements of its traditional rural architecture, creating a setting that combines views of the vineyards with homemade food and wines from its own cellar.
The kitchen serves homemade cold cuts, cured meats, meat and cheese spreads, along with seasonal produce grown on the farm. One speciality is fresh bread baked in a wood-fired oven. Homemade desserts change with the seasons, while carefully chosen local ceramics add a distinctive touch to the table.
The wines reflect Svečina's white grape varieties, including Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Welschriesling. Alongside fresh, dry wines, the estate produces traditional-method Brut sparkling wine and the 225 collection, aged in wooden barrels. The wine tavern brings together regional cooking and local winemaking traditions in a landscape crossed by walking trails and wine routes.
