Sarajevo-style ćevapčići, somun bread and Turkish coffee in an artistic Balkan-inspired setting.

On Poštna Street in central Maribor and Gosposvetska Road, Baščaršija brings traditional Bosnian and Balkan cuisine to the city. Run by the Marković family, the restaurant is known for its artistic ethnic interiors, traditional decorative details and informal atmosphere. Its Poštna Street location is part of one of Maribor's lively streets, surrounded by cafés, restaurants and city life.

The menu centres on Sarajevo-style ćevapčići, pleskavica and sudžukice sausages, served in somun flatbread with onions, kajmak and traditional accompaniments. Other dishes include burek, mixed meat platters and Balkan specialities. The family developed its recipes through years of experience and collaboration with specialists in Bosnian gastronomy.

Another signature is Turkish coffee served in a džezva and fildžan, accompanied by sweet lokum. Over the years, Baščaršija has also become a meeting place for performers and artists from across the Balkans. Musicians, actors and other cultural figures have visited the restaurant, connecting its food and hospitality with Maribor's cultural life.
