Family wines from vineyards near Austria, an old wine cellar and fruit growing in the Svečina hills.

In Plač near Svečina, among vineyards close to the Slovenian-Austrian border, Vino Kušter is the family wine and fruit-growing estate of the Šerbineks. The farm has used the name Kušter for around 300 years. Vinko Šerbinek learned winemaking from his grandfather and began restoring the vineyards with his wife Sonja in 1989. Their son Žiga joined the cellar team, taking over cellar work in 2019.

The vineyards occupy distinct sites, including Domači Kogl, Pesjak, Pri Kreni and Župnikova. Some steep slopes can only be worked by hand. In the old cellar, the family makes dry and off-dry varietal wines, including Sauvignon, Riesling, Welschriesling, Traminer and Pinot Gris, alongside sparkling wines and the Kušter and Vincenc blends. Its 2022 Sauvignon received the regional Naše najboljše (Our Finest) certificate.

Fruit growing is another part of the farm's identity, especially apples such as Jerseymac, Gala, Golden Delicious and Topaz. The family also offers wine tastings. A visit connects its winemaking tradition with the Svečina landscape, known for vineyards and walking routes.
