On Freedom Square in central Maribor, Vinoteka Vinag brings together wines from Vinag 1847 and regional food. The company's wine heritage dates back to 1847, while the wine bar also serves as a starting point for discovering the historic cellars beneath the city centre. Wines can be enjoyed by the glass or selected by the bottle.
The food selection features local cured meats, cheese platters with Slovenian cheeses and Carniolan sausage, along with smaller snacks. Drinks also include cocktails, spirits, coffee and tea, with mulled wine and seasonal grape must offered at certain times of year. Sommelier-led tastings introduce different vintages, wine styles and the characteristics of the vineyards.
The venue also hosts themed wine evenings and small private events. A visit can be combined with a guided tour of the Vinag cellar, where wooden barrels, concrete tanks and archive bottles tell part of Maribor's winemaking story. Cellar tours follow a separate schedule and are not automatically included in a wine-bar visit.
