In Jedlovnik near Zgornja Kungota, Katja and Gregor Leber-Vračko have created Opok27, a wine estate with a cellar, restaurant and boutique accommodation. Its name refers to opok, the local term for the marl soil found in the vineyards, and the number of the former vineyard cottage. The estate builds on the family's winemaking tradition.
The winery produces sparkling, fresh, aged and skin-contact wines, alongside its own vermouth. The restaurant serves seasonal dishes using local ingredients, including dairy products from Katja's sister's farm and vegetables from the estate's garden. Guests can choose from the daily menu or book a five-course tasting menu in advance, accompanied by estate wines.
The restaurant and terrace overlook vineyards and the family estate. Visits can include a guided wine tasting arranged in advance or an overnight stay in one of four boutique rooms. Opok27 combines winemaking, seasonal cuisine and accommodation in the wine-growing countryside near Maribor.
