Fram Oil Mill, located in Fram at the foot of Pohorje, has maintained a pumpkin seed oil tradition dating back to 1750. Knowledge passed through generations of the Krajnc and Bezjak families still shapes production today. The mill uses seeds from Slovenian growers associated with the Ptuj Agricultural Cooperative to produce Styrian-Prekmurje pumpkin seed oil with protected geographical indication status.
A distinctive feature is the Old Oil Mill Museum, housed in the former Bezjak family mill. Guided visits introduce the history of oil production and include a multimedia presentation of traditional methods. Visitors can also taste pumpkin seed oil and roasted pumpkin seeds.
Several tasting packages are available, with options including local cured meats and wines from nearby vineyards. The mill also produces other edible oils, including sunflower and grape seed oil. Fram brings together historic craftsmanship, regional agriculture and the culinary traditions of Slovenian Styria.
