Nushka Drašček is a prominent Slovenian singer who delights audiences with her voice, stage presence and extremely wide repertoire, ranging from opera, solo singing and vocal-instrumental works to chanson, jazz, Slovenian folk songs, pop, gospel and musicals. She is particularly dedicated to classical music, to which she returns again and again with in-depth interpretations - also this time, when she will perform with a trio of top Slovenian instrumentalists or those working in Slovenia. Violinist John Podlesek, long-time concertmaster of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, cellist Karmen Pečar Koritnik, a popular and internationally renowned soloist and chamber musician, and Serbian piano virtuoso Alexander Serdar, who has a rich international career, joined forces in 2021 to form this new piano trio.
At the heart of the program will be the sophisticated sound worlds of French music and a profound tribute to the great Beethoven. This composer has been revered for centuries for his groundbreaking instrumental oeuvre, but it is less well known that he also devoted himself with great enthusiasm and great success to vocal music. Nuška Drašček will illuminate this part of Beethoven's oeuvre with a selection from his collection inspired by folk melodies. Scottish songsThe instrumentalists will then dedicate themselves to Beethoven's work for the piano trio ensemble and play a deeply conceived work that flirts with popular Viennese street music (so-called songs). "Gassenhauer"). The counterbalance will be provided by Gabriel Fauré's melodically rich trio and the enchanting, sonically colorful soliloquies of Hector Berlioz.
