Discover the green heritage of the city on a guided walk through the city parks of Maribor, where exceptional trees with unique stories grow. The experience is based on exceptional trees identified within the Municipality of Maribor, recognised as special due to their dendrological, historical, testimonial, or aesthetic value.
Many of these trees are protected as natural tree heritage and represent a true ornament of the city parks as well as a source of pride for the city. Each tree tells its own story – of time, place, people, and nature that has shaped Maribor’s urban landscape.
The guided tour is conceptually based on the publication Guide to Exceptional Trees and is enriched by an audiobook, offering visitors an in-depth and contemporary interpretation of natural heritage. The walk provides a unique opportunity to experience city parks from a different perspective – as living witnesses of history and sustainability.
