Lake Mariborsko jezero
The lake – you can find it above Mariborski otok – was formed with the damming up of the river Drava on account of the construction of the hydroelectric power station Mariborski otok. Today it is protected as a regional park, and at the same time it is a popular area for:
- recreation – try sailing, surfing and rowing!
- research of specific waterside biotopes (south bank of the lake is almost completely overgrown with a wood, in several places there are also shallow spots, which are also interesting habitats) and
- admiring the wonderful landscape and relaxation in nature – on the edge of the lake you will also find numerous boathouses and restaurants.
