Lobik Brewery is an independent craft brewery whose story began in 2009, when a group of friends started exploring the art of brewing. Today, production takes place in Ruše, at the foot of the Pohorje hills near Maribor. The brewery specialises in contemporary beer styles, particularly hop-forward pale ales and IPAs.
Its range includes Champion, Fruitpocalypse Now, Hop Hazard and P.O.B., featuring different combinations of hops, fruity aromas and bitterness. Lobik packages its beers in cans, which help protect them from light and oxygen, preserving their intended character.
The brewery also operates Lobik Taproom on Tovarniška cesta in Ruše, opening on Friday evenings. The taproom offers a chance to explore the brewery's beers where they are produced and get a sense of the local craft brewing scene. Lobik beers are also served at selected bars in Maribor and elsewhere in Slovenia.
