Gregor Vračko turns local Styrian ingredients into contemporary tasting menus.

Hiša Denk in Zgornja Kungota is a family-run restaurant whose culinary tradition dates back to 1972. Chef Gregor Vračko connects that heritage with contemporary cuisine, drawing on the natural produce of Styria and interpreting it through precise techniques and thoughtful presentation.

Guests choose the length of the menu when booking, while the dishes remain a surprise. Lunch offers three, five or seven courses, while dinner is served as five or seven courses. The menu changes with the ingredients selected, combining a distinctly regional character with creative contemporary combinations. Hiša Denk has held one MICHELIN Star since 2020 and received 17.5 points in the 2026 Gault&Millau guide.

The restaurant is set in a green landscape between the wine road of Austrian Styria and the Pohorje Hills near Maribor. Its modern architecture, combining wood and glass, opens onto a pond, park and terrace. Seven rooms above the restaurant extend the experience into an overnight stay in the countryside, with the wider Styrian landscape close at hand.
