"When you hear your song rearranged by someone else, it's a confirmation that it means something. As long as you perform it yourself, you're not objective. Only when someone else takes it as their own, when they find themselves in it and pour themselves into it, then you know it's real – a song," says Vlado Kreslin.

We believe that the giant of Slovenian music is far too modest, and we add that "truly a song" is an overly humble description of masterpieces embraced by entire generations. We can confidently say that nearly folkloric hits such as Črna kitara, Še je čas, Dan neskončnih sanj, Nekega jutra, ko se zdani, or Cesta, to name just a handful, are national treasures.

On the occasion of his anniversary – the Prekmurje poet has entered his seventy-seventh spring – songs from one of the most impressive Slovenian music catalogs have received a new makeover. With arrangements and performances at the concert prepared by musicians for the Izštekani show on Val 202, over a dozen performers from all corners of the musical map paid tribute to Kreslin.
