This truly versatile musician has inspired an entirely new generation that pays no heed to genre boundaries. The "NuBlu sound," named after his renowned club in New York's East Village, is considered jazz music that has absorbed influences from rock, reggae, funk, trip-hop, and Middle Eastern traditions.
