Festen is a closely guarded secret on the Parisian jazz scene, which has developed its own unique musical language, much like the group Gogo Penguin in Manchester. They draw musical inspiration from the world of cinema, particularly from rock bands of the nineties. So far, they have recorded four albums rooted in the cinematic masterpieces of Thomas Vinterberg and Stanley Kubrick, and their latest, Replicant, presents their take on the dystopian classic film Blade Runner.

In the film Blade Runner, a 'replicant' is a humanoid being created through bioengineering, indistinguishable from ordinary humans but possessing superhuman abilities and intelligence. Similarly, you can see Festen as an ordinary jazz quartet that surpasses the standard lineup with raw rock 'n' roll energy. They employ powerful sub-bass, driving rhythms, and catchy melodies that stick in the mind like popular tunes.
