Gaj above Maribor is a charming village on the extreme eastern ridge of Kozjak near the border with the Republic of Austria, at an altitude of 583 meters, and it offers beautiful views.
It was called St. Križ before II World War, and today this name has been preserved by the church of St. Križ on Gaj. It is a popular spot among cyclists and hikers.
